Pre-purchase on-site support to save time and money. Our Web-based system means no waiting on the phone and you use your own words to describe what you need. Web reports provide at-a-glance view of time used and time remaining on contract. Monthly reports provide detailed service history. Available in 3, 6, 20, 40, 80 and 120 hour blocks.

Service Overview

When you enter into a technical support agreement with us we create an account for you in our Customer Support System (CSS). The CSS allows you to request service by entering a work order via the Internet. It also gives you reports on how many hours you have available on your contract and a history of your service calls, including our technicians' notes and the time charged against each call. We also have a helpdesk telephone line which you can use if you don't have access to the Internet or prefer not to use the CSS.

When we receive your service request, a technician contacts you by telephone to schedule an appointment or to attempt to work through the problem, depending on the nature of the request. Telephone support is charged against your account in 15-minute increments. If an on-site call is required, a minimum of one hour is charged, with subsequent time billed in 30 minute increments. Travel time within the limits of the Cities of Ottawa and Gatineau is not charged against the contract. Service contracts for locations outside these cities are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Your contract buys a block of technical support time (3, 6, 20, 40, 80 or 120 hours) that you can use however you wish for a period of up to one year. Each time you request service, our technicians' time is deducted from your account. When your account is empty, or at the end of the year, we automatically renew your contract for the same number of hours and extend the expiration to one year from the date of renewal. If you don't wish to renew, simply return the renewal invoice unpaid and we'll close your account.

It may happen that a service call takes longer than the amount of time left on your contract. For example, if you have an hour left and our technician is on-site for 90 minutes, your contract will incur a deficit of 30 minutes. In this situation we will automatically renew your contract for another year. You can either pay the renewal invoice, or, if you prefer not to renew, you can pay the balance at our then-current hourly rate.

Our technical support contracts are valid for one year. At the end of the year, if you have any hours left on your contract, we will automatically renew for another year and add the unused hours to your renewal contract. If you choose not to renew, you will not receive a refund for your unused hours. For example, if you buy a six-hour contract and at the end of the year one hour remains on it, we will automatically roll your contract into a new six-hour contract and add the one hour from the previous contract, thus giving you a time balance of seven hours on the new contract. You will be invoiced the then-current rate for a six-hour contract.

Our standard contract is for next-business day support during regular work week business hours. In most cases, we respond on the same business day depending on when your request arrives at no extra charge. Same business day priority service will be charged against your contract at time and a half. Evening, holiday and weekend work can be accommodated at after hours rates. You can apply your technical support hours to the design, development and maintenance of your web site. A simple five page site with no forms or database requirements can take up to 20 hours to implement. More complex sites with forms and database-based catalogues start at about 40 hours. If you already have a site that needs a new look but no content changes, count on about 30 minutes per page, plus two to four hours to do the initial design. Remember that these are all rough estimates. If we feel that your requirements will need significantly more or less time, we'll discuss them with you before starting the work. If you're happy with your site but want the content updated, simply upload the new content via our web-based work order system and we'll make the changes. All web design, development, and support work is charged against your contract in 15 minute increments.
